Red Design is thrilled to announce that we have been placed on the shortlist for 2018 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, Asia Restaurant category, for Umi.
Umi is an upscale bar, lounge and restaurant, opened in early 2018 and serving Western-influenced Japanese food. The venue is located in the Swire Properties mall in Shanghai, Taikoo Hui.
The interior of Umi takes as its core concept the juxtaposition of Western and Japanese culture, fusing two contrasting styles into one cohesive interior space. The design complements the unique “modern Japanese” cuisine by the internationally recognized German chef Bjoern Alexander.
