Ostra is a new destination restaurant on Tongren Road in Central Shanghai, offering fine European bistro food and the best selection of oysters in the city.

The narrow two-storey space was delicately carved up into a small dining room and a series of private dining spaces.  Connecting these rooms is a spiral staircase with a form designed to echo a coral shell.

The design uses a dark, minimalist palette of polished plaster, brass and marble to achieve a refined sense of luxury, complimenting but not overpowering the creations of the kitchen.
