Shanghai Grand Gateway MERCADITO 166 takes inspiration from the traditional markets of Spain’s Basque Country. Its open façade blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, while hand-applied microcement, natural rubble stone, and a terracotta color palette—combined with material texture and controlled lighting—create an unrefined, Mediterranean‑inspired resort atmosphere. Drawing on the Basque contrasts of independence and integration, bustle and tranquility, the design employs a contemporary language that weaves together regional context and captivating colors to craft an authentic, modern Basque interior space.
